The Sirolli pilot scheme is now running to an end, and centralised funding for projects like Sirolli Dundee is no longer possible. Ultimately, Clocking on to Business is a local endeavour and seeks funding locally to build upon the work already started in Dundee.
Whatever the future may bring, it is imperative that the experiences of Sirolli Dundee are not forgotten. We envisage this type of community barn-raising to become increasingly necessary as it seems likely that more demands will be placed on local communities to provide their own services. Dundee is well positioned to take this ethos forward with the experience of the Sirolli Panel and Enterprise Facilitator.
It is important that the considerable funding already committed to Sirolli Dundee is not a wasted investment, and that we can build on our successes and share the lessons learned with a variety of organisations which share the same goals and aspirations.
The running costs of the project are minimal, we only have one employee, the Enterprise Facilitator. It is fundamental to the project that there isn’t an office and that the facilitator uses whatever he can beg, steal or borrow from within the community where he/she operates. The project requires ongoing funding of approximately £50,000 per year
