Enterprise Facilitator

Sandy McCurdy is the sole employee and the face of the project. He, together with a number of others, has been fully trained in the Sirolli ‘Enterprise Facilitation’ concept and together with the local Panel he is here to assist and help you achieve your goals. He will never call you but he is available whenever you have need of his services - simply telephone him to arrange an appointment at a time and a place that suits you.

The Facilitator is employed by the community, your community, to help and assist YOU with your business ideas and problems. We are not a government department nor in any way ‘official’. However, we do have contacts with all the various agencies, such as Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise and DCC City (Economic) Development. If necessary we can help you connect to them or if appropriate to lending institutions such as the banks. We exist simply to provide an accessible and ‘easy’ route to getting business advice, especially for those who may feel intimidated by the more conventional agencies. You don’t need to have a business plan or even a clear idea of just where you want to be with your business idea: the facilitator will assist you work through the issues. You don’t have to wear a suit and you certainly don’t have to come to our offices. Actually, we don’t have an office - we work from cafes and sometimes from a room in a community centre that we borrow for an hour or so. We can meet people in their homes or in fact anywhere that suits or makes you feel more comfortable. We want to listen to you and understand what makes you tick, then we will help you to identify what is needed for your business: either to make that start or perhaps if an existing business take a change in direction and explore new opportunities. You bring us your enthusiasm and we will offer you guidance and the gentle hand of the facilitator together with the experience he and indeed the whole panel have to offer you.
